About Us

James Ong

Co-Founder of Kapel

I’ve built my career in fast-paced environments, especially in fintech where things move fast, expectations run high, and stress often gets sidelined as “just part of the job.” I’ve led teams, managed products, and navigated endless back-to-back meetings — all while trying to keep burnout at bay.

Over the years, I saw a pattern: stress didn’t just affect how I performed at work, it crept into everything — energy, mood, relationships, health. I realized I couldn’t keep running on empty and expect things to magically get better. That’s when I started diving deeper into practical ways to manage stress — not just for survival, but for long-term resilience.

That journey is what led me to co-create Kapel. We wanted to build something real — not fluffy, not overly clinical — just accessible tools that help people cope better with the stress they face every day. Tools we wish we had earlier in our careers. Hence we designed our products to be simple, doable, and effective — especially for people who are busy but know they need to take better care of themselves.

I believe that stress is part of life — but burnout doesn’t have to be. And we're excited to help more people build the skills to handle it better.

Lim Yee Khang

Co-Founder of Kapel

I've spent around 7 years in the fast-paced, high-stakes world of finance and fintech—industries where tight deadlines, constant change, and high expectations are the norm. From my early days managing complex projects to later roles leading high-performing teams, I’ve been in environments where stress wasn’t just part of the job—it defined it.

At the peak of my career, I found myself consistently stretched thin: juggling multiple priorities, managing stakeholders across regions, and pushing for performance while guiding team members through constant change. The pressure to deliver was immense, and burnout was always around the corner.

But over time, I realized that powering through wasn’t sustainable. I started investing in developing better stress management skills—not just to cope, but to truly show up better for myself, my team, and my work. Through a mix of self-awareness, habit building, mental reframing, and lifestyle tweaks, I rebuilt the way I approached stress.

This personal journey inspired the creation of Kapel—a brand focused on helping other high-performing professionals build practical stress management skills they can rely on. Through specially curated products that leverage on our experience, we hope to give people small, actionable steps to regain calm and clarity. It’s our way of making mental well-being more accessible, especially for those who don’t always have the time or mental space to dive into wellness routines.

Whether you're just starting to feel the weight of burnout, or you're already deep in it, it's possible to take control of your stress — and still thrive. Because managing stress shouldn’t feel like another full-time job.
